Queen City Guitars lands in Vermont

An empty commercial space in Brattleboro, Vermont waiting to become the new home of Queen City Guitars

Hello all, I am currently writing from rainy Brattleboro, Vermont where I have recently landed as a new resident. First of all, let me apologize to any Vermonters reading this for the confusion that the name I build under may well cause. I know that Burlington is the Queen City of Vermont, had I known just how many queen cities there were in the United States 9 years ago, perhaps I would have chosen differently, but here we are. Denver, the Queen City of the Plains, remains a special and important place for me and I appreciate the connection the name continues to hold for me and that connection with my home in Colorado is the real importance of the moniker.

Above is pictured my new work space. a bit larger than the old one, and no longer tucked away in a corner of my apartment, which I think will be very nice in some ways and challenging in others (Winter snow and ice is number one in my mind here). Currently the space is a bit fuller than pictured. Most of my tools are in the shop, if still boxed up. Over the next two weeks I will be unpacking tools, building out the new shop (shelves and a new humidity controlled space), and generally getting set up to start cranking out guitars again. Or something like that that sounds a bit less fast paced. I will still be doing most everything by hand, quality not quantity. I will however hopefully be able to focus a bit more on building here, the cost of living being a bit less than it was in Oakland.

In the next few weeks I will possibly be posting an update here when the shop set up is a bit further along, hopefully getting a video or two up on my youtube channel Queen City Guitars, and posting more frequent progress shots on my Instagram @queencityguitars.

If you have followed along with my work in the past, thanks for sticking around, and if you are new to the site thanks for stopping in, wander around a bit in this digital realm, and if you are in the Brattleboro area stop by and check out some guitars sometime (but call me first, so you know I’ll be around).
