Small Group Workshops

I have been offering workshops up to now as one on one time, in person at my shop or remotely, but I would like to try and do an offering of specific topic small group workshops. It could be in person workshop for people in the area or an online version for anyone. I am currently thinking 3-6 participants per workshop and doing them once a month, or possibly one of each, in person and online, per month.

I would like to start as early as the late May and want to get started with something that I think anyone interested in the guitar, aspiring builder or player, would be served to take a deeper look at. Namely setups. Not so much the what of the setup, but the why, set up theory if you will. A setup is generally just a tune up for a guitar and involves rather simple adjustment procedures, the complex bit is really the way that everything relates. That can make it difficult to make the correct adjustments without a firm grasp on those relations and the order of operations with which to approach them.

If you are interested in participating in a small group setup workshop please fill out the form below and I will contact you shortly, thanks!

One on One Workshops

In much the same way that guitar lessons work you come into the workshop with an intention of learning about some part of guitar building, or perhaps the intention of learning the whole process from start to finish. Workshops are set up in hour long increments during which time we will focus on your particular interests. Maybe we spend an hour talking about techniques for using hide glue for various parts of the build, or an hour discussing set up. Perhaps you want to book several hours of instruction and go through the whole process of making binding and purfling, cutting channels in the body and installing the finished binding and purfling.

Whatever it is that excites you about lutherie I would love to help you gain experience and insight into that process. While it is always nice to be working in the same space, I am also available for individual workshops via the internet as well.

Workshop time is purchasable by the hour, $60 per hour

In my shop if you are near by, or over the internet if you are unable to make it to my shop.

If you have an interest in learning more about guitar building please contact me at aaron@queencityguitars.com. Put workshop in the subject and let me know a little about what you would like to learn and we can schedule a time to make that happen.
